We just got our first CSA delivery this week - bok choy, lettuce, radishes, asian greens, kale. (I skipped out of town and left Eric with the kale - let me know what you think is the best thing to do with it because kale perplexes me.) It's great to be in a harvesting season! I am sure things taste better because you've worked so hard on them. Your strawberries look divine.

I like kale, but it's not my favorite green either. I will sometimes cook it like I cook everything else, sauteeing it slowly in olive oil with sliced garlic and pinches of dry red chile. For something more substantial, there is a good portuguese soup with kale and sausage that is very easy to make. I think you could find recipes online but let me know if you want me to send you one. I also think it's pretty good in small portions tossed raw with other salad greens. We grow a beautiful variety called red russian kale that seems particularly sweet raw.

we love kale .. you need to get a recipe from franny for a raw kale salad (yup, just kale in there)... one of my favorite salads and if you don't finish it you can eat it the next day even with the dressing on it.
