There are actually quite a few around here, and a lot of players of all levels. I'm glad Jack's fiddle playing is coming along and that you've started the tin whistle. Good luck, and hopefully we'll meet again and play some.
-BrianBrian C. Jack and I go there each summer for "camp" and find the immersion experience to be wonderful. It might help you to meet other musicians. Also, just sessioned with a box player last night named Michael Fitzpatrick who is from Boston (wonder how many of those are in the boston phone book!) Maybe you could look him up for some sessions in your area. Sessions are the best way to get to know both tunes and other musicians. Meantime, look up the Kane sisters, Kevin Burke, you already know about Liz Carroll, and a live session album called Live At Mona's with a fiddler named Patrick Orceau. We can recommend so much more. I loved your blog about the At Play album which is so great of course. Hope to see you back here in Cincy soon and we can whisk you away to some sessions here. Jack's fiddle playing is really coming along as is my whistle playing (not sure if I had even started that when we saw you at Lisa's party at new years' - what Dec 31 2005?) Take care on your journey.
Best, AmyEsme kenneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02883774555879489705noreply@blogger.com
